“Add another news source to your diet,” she says, but not everyone’s thrilled.
Dana Perino just shook up her fans’ news routine. The beloved Fox News host and former White House Press Secretary used her latest Mentor Monday Instagram segment to deliver a surprising message: It’s time to diversify your news feed.
A Call for More (Not Just Fox)
In the September 1st post, the America’s Newsroom co-anchor and The Five co-host suggested viewers add one new source of information to their daily mix.
“Whatever your news diet is… you might add a newspaper, a new Substack, a podcast,” Dana said. She even mentioned her own show, Perino on Politics, as a solid option, but quickly added, “I’m not just touting my podcast but it’s good.”

She also recommended Fox News Rundown and Matt Whitlock’s 10 Minute Drill, calling them “very good” and “great sources” to enrich one’s perspective.
Silence Is Golden
Perino didn’t stop at news. She also urged followers to find “more time in silence” which is an unexpected twist from the always-plugged-in news world.
“We have to find time to walk without the AirPods… for prayer, meditation, just thinking,” she advised. “That’s when you come up with all your good ideas.”
Fans Sound Off
The comments section lit up, not all positively.
One follower teased: “You told me to add another news source besides Fox and then you tell me to take my AirPods out. I can’t handle all the negativity from this post.”
Another joked: “Good idea — get different perspectives, even the wrong side, to see what the left is really up to.”
Still, others praised the balanced advice, applauding Dana’s encouragement to stay curious and think independently.
More Than a Fox Face
Dana Perino, 53, has been with Fox News since 2009 and has become a household name thanks to her steady presence on The Five, where she appears alongside Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters, Jessica Tarlov, and Harold Ford Jr.
Before her TV fame, she served as the final White House Press Secretary under President George W. Bush, succeeding Tony Snow in 2007, months before his passing.
Catch Dana on America’s Newsroom weekdays at 9 a.m. EST and The Five at 5 p.m. EST, but don’t be surprised if she nudges you to read a little something extra on the side.
