Eric Trump takes on a sumo champ in Tokyo — and fans can’t stop laughing

    Published on

Eric Trump is body-slamming expectations, literally.

The 41-year-old son of President Donald Trump swapped politics for a padded wrestling ring this week, and fans are loving every second of it. During a high-profile trip to Tokyo, where Eric is representing the Trump family’s growing global interest in cryptocurrency, he found time for some very unexpected cultural immersion.

And yes, it involved going toe-to-toe with a Japanese sumo wrestling legend.

“Almost had him!” — Eric steps into the ring

Before kicking off meetings with Metaplanet, a major Japanese bitcoin treasury firm, Eric took to Instagram to share a wild moment from his visit to a sumo training ground.

Wearing crisp navy shorts and a pale blue button-up, not exactly sumo attire, the 6-foot-5 Trump Organization exec faced off against a 34-year-old sumo legend, a Yokozuna — the sport’s highest-ranked grand champion.

The first clip had fans on edge as Eric nearly shoved the champ out of the ring… before being effortlessly lifted and carried out himself.

Not every day you get invited to sumo the legend, Yokozuna! Almost had him! 😳A great honor!“, Eric joked in the caption, alongside a shocked emoji. He also shared extra videos to his Instagram Story.

Sumo swings, high-fives, and a whole lot of laughs

But the real show came in round two, when Yokozuna picked Eric up again, spun him in a full circle, and gently placed him back down. Eric, completely unfazed, burst into laughter and high-fived his towering opponent.

The final post? A smiling group selfie with the sumo squad, showing a relaxed, good-humored side of Trump that fans don’t always get to see.

Fans react: “Made me laugh so much!”

Eric’s 3 million Instagram followers had thoughts and most of them were laughing.

“Need to build them legs up, Eric!” one fan teased, while another added, “Lol this was great! Made me laugh so much when he swung you around.”

Others praised the experience itself: “What a fun moment. So good to have good humor.”

A few even got fashion-forward: “You’re not dressed the part mate,” one follower joked, nodding to Eric’s boardroom-ready outfit in the ring.

But the takeaway was clear. Eric Trump isn’t just expanding American business abroad. He’s doing it with humility, humor, and heart.

    And maybe… a sore back.
