Michael Strahan may have the most famous smile in football and TV, but even he wasn’t ready for the playful jab Robin Roberts delivered live on Good Morning America.
The lighthearted moment unfolded Wednesday morning, quickly earning laughs from the studio and plenty of fan reactions online.
A Labubu mix-up turns into a roast
Strahan, 52, was seated alongside Roberts and weekend anchor Whit Johnson during a segment about a recent Labubu store break-in, which led to a discussion on the viral toys that have fascinated shoppers with their creepy-cute look. Lara Spencer had just finished her report on the bizarrely cute collectibles when Strahan pulled out a colorful penguin plush Robin had brought to set.

Proudly holding it up, Strahan teased Roberts: “We were sitting here, and I saw Robin on her phone, and she was looking this up.”
Roberts explained the toy had been gifted to her by Dr. Tara Narula’s daughter, then teased Strahan: “Michael, how do you feel?” Strahan smiled and replied, “I feel great — because I knew it wasn’t a Labubu. It has no teeth.”
That’s when Roberts fired back with the ultimate clapback: “You’re one to talk about teeth.”
Strahan speechless, Roberts unbothered
The NFL legend-turned-TV star was caught off guard, pausing for a moment before breaking into laughter. Viewers saw him visibly stunned as Roberts doubled down with a cheeky warning: “You come at me. I’ll come back at you!”

The anchors and audience cracked up, with Strahan graciously taking the roast in stride. After all, his iconic tooth gap has been part of his charm since his Giants days, something fans clearly love as much as Roberts loves teasing him.
Fans call it ‘savage’
The exchange was later shared on GMA’s official Instagram, where fans flooded the comments.
“Best quip I’ve seen in a while! Funny as heck!!” one wrote.
“WOW!! Mike walked into that one!!” another said.
“Omg that was too funny, those two always cracking on each other,” added a third.
And one summed it up perfectly: “That is simply savage!”
For Strahan, it was just another day balancing football analysis on Fox with morning banter on ABC. But this time, the internet agrees, Robin Roberts may have scored the real touchdown.
